AAR seeks nominees for top member awards
It’s time to recognize REALTOR® and Affiliate members who stand out in AAR’s outstanding crowd.
Award winners will be honored at the Inaugural in September. Nominations are due to AAR by July 15, 5 p.m.
REALTOR® of the Year
Purpose – To recognize and pay tribute to the REALTOR® who has exemplified the service ideal of a REALTOR® in his or her Association or community.
REALTOR® Spirit – High principles, faithfulness to laws and Code of Ethics, fostering principles of good real estate practice among REALTORS® and the public.
Civic Activity – Recognized leadership and/or participation in service clubs, civic and charitable activities, political commissions, fraternal and/or religious groups, etc.
Business Accomplishments – Recognized good business conduct, success in service to clients, imaginative and creative marketing programs and business development.
Member Association Activities – Participation in Association committees, special assignments, seminar and education work, offices held. Local, state and national Associations.

Affiliate of the Year
Purpose – To recognize and pay tribute to an Affiliate Member who has given outstanding support to the Aurora Association of REALTORS®.
Association Spirit – High principles, faithfulness to laws and Code of Ethics and local association; furtherance of good business practices in the industry and with the public.
Local Association Activity – Committee work and acceptance of special assignments.
State Association Activity – Participation at state conventions, conferences.
Business Accomplishment – Recognized good business conduct, service to clients, imaginative programs to help the real estate industry and the public.
Civic Activity – Local, state and national level participation in civic and service clubs, charitable activities, political commissions, fraternal or religious groups, etc.

Good Neighbor Award
AAR’s Good Neighbor Award honors an outstanding REALTOR® member who is making a positive difference in the community.
Nominees must…
• Be an AAR REALTOR® member in good standing.
• Contribute (or have contributed) to a program that improves the livability of the local community.
• Make a significant contribution of personal time, but contributions of money, materials, or other resources will be considered.
• Be able to document the results of their individual involvement through testimonials from the organization they served or people they helped.
The award is intended to recognize individual contributions, not association- or company-wide efforts. Some portion of the nominee’s community work must have taken place between Aug. 1, 2008, and Aug. 1, 2010, but the committee will also consider ongoing efforts outside that time frame that demonstrate a depth of commitment.

Rising Star Award
AAR’s Rising Star Award honors one individual who, early on in his or her career, is making a positive difference in the industry.
To be considered for the award, candidates must be licensed a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years as of June 1, 2010; must provide a report of their previous three years of production showing a minimum of 24 sides; must meet with the Rising Star Committee, and must complete other submission materials as requested.
An application will ask for the following:
• Number of "sides" of transactions in the past three years.
• Continuing education/extra courses.
• Volunteerism/involvement at AAR.
• Involvement in one’s own office/with other REALTORS®.
• Community service.
• Outside involvements.
• Other items the selection committee might consider.
• Why do you think you might deserve this award?
