AAR wins float contest at CAR Convention

In a celebration of the Mardi Gras theme at the recent CAR Convention, businesses were encouraged to honor the annual festival’s spirit by entering a float in a Mardi Gras parade that was part of the Bourbon Street Festivities on Monday evening.
AAR’s float took top honors in the parade with a float designed to “Celebrate a History of Leadership” at AAR. The krewe (the enthusiastic group of AAR members who paraded with the float) featured CAR Directors Mitch Myers, David DeElena and Caroline Nordyke; CAR Treasurer Sunny Banka, NAR Directors Linda Philpott and Bob Brown; AAR President Terry Wenze; and Metro District Vice President-elect David Barber. All were costumed in traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, yellow and green and donned masks, beads and placards stating their leadership positions.
Special thanks to CAR Director David DeElena who chaired the float committee; Mico Smith, Metamorphing Interiors, who designed the float; Desiree Banka, North American Title, who assisted with construction; to Neil Fancher and Tammi Klasinski, Complete Digital Image Solutions, who provided the signage for the float and krewe; and to AAR’s leadership, who volunteered their time to make this a winning event. |
