Passage of 3A, 3B ensures APS advances
Superintendent John L. Barry and the Aurora Public Schools (APS) Board of Education thank voters for approving Ballot Measures 3A and 3B. The $14.7 million mill levy and $215 million bond measures will make a difference for all APS students and staff members.
3A – Mill Levy
The mill levy will enable APS to fund educational programs such as full-day kindergarten at all elementary/K-8 schools, to provide the 2009 fifth block of instruction, and to maintain current program and staffing levels. It will also allow APS to expand programs such as truancy intervention, positive behavior systems and pilot school development.
3B – Bond
Bond-funded construction will improve every school building in our district. The bond will fund safety and security improvements, school remodels and renovations, the construction of a new high school and P-8 school, and technology projects. APS will begin bond projects in spring 2009 and complete construction over a five-year period.
