Colorado’s new Foreclosure Hotline can help your clients connect with non-profit housing counselors who can provide information on options when facing foreclosure.
The free Hotline, which is just over four months old, is designed to address the impact of foreclosures on Colorado families the Colorado housing market.
Homeowners in the following situations may call the hotline:
• Borrowers who have not yet missed a mortgage payment but are concerned they may miss future payments.
• Borrowers who are already behind on the payments.
• Borrowers who have received a notice of foreclosure.
• Borrowers having trouble communicating with their mortgage lenders.
Foreclosure counselors can also act as facilitators for communication between lenders and borrowers.
In its first nine days of operation last October, the Hotline received more than 3,000 phone calls, including 1,300 in its first 24 hours.
