City of Aurora asks brokers to notify clients when property is near airport
The four airports in or near Aurora may provide significant economic benefits, but noise from aircraft can sometimes frustrate residents.
That’s one reason Aurora created an Airport Influence District ordinance that restricts new residential development within a certain proximity to the airports. In addition, Aurora uses avigation easements as well as notices in real estate purchase contracts, both of which help assure that homebuyers know they are purchasing property near an airport.
Airport Influence District maps, ordinances and an airport noise program brochure are available at www.auroragov.org City staff also encourages real estate brokers to provide information with their contracts that notifies potential purchasers that the property is located within the vicinity of an airport.
