Use what you know to jump start success

I still love that old parable about the farmer who was leaning on a fence and surveying a long day's work on his farm. The farmer was approached by a magazine salesman who swore some of the magazines had the latest and greatest tips on having a more productive and profitable farm. After listening to the salesman extol all the benefits he had to offer, the farmer paused for a long moment, and finally said, "Sonny - I ain't using half of what I already know."
Education without application is useless. That farmer knew that he already possessed knowledge and skills that he wasn't applying. The quickest and easiest way I know to jump start your business is to dust off a few of the skills or techniques that you used when you were first getting started.
A quick, simple application of a previously successful mailer or a door knocking campaign with informative flyers is easy and profitable. No matter what you do, it will work. My father used to say, "It all works - you just have to work it." Application and perseverance prevail. You already have the talent and you know it worked before.
Do not forget your "secret weapon" - your membership in the Aurora Association of REALTORS®. AAR's staff and your directors work very hard to make sure you have access to the best products and materials in the business. Take advantage of it and apply it. Your membership dues give you a lot of bang for the buck!
